RAMP DIMENSION ESTIMATOR

Dog Ramp Length Calculator

Enter the vertical rise and an incline angle to estimate the ramp surface length and horizontal floor space. The maths is transparent, and the result is a dimensional estimate—not a medical recommendation.

Measure straight upward from the floor to the landing surface.

Comparison angles only; no angle is universally suitable.

This calculator provides general dimensional estimates. The appropriate ramp design depends on the pet’s size, mobility, confidence and individual needs. Seek professional veterinary guidance when mobility or pain is a concern.

How the result is calculated

Ramp surface length is rise ÷ sin(angle). Horizontal run is rise ÷ tan(angle). A lower angle produces a longer ramp and requires more floor space.
