PetBuyLab is an independent, reader-supported publication that helps people choose pet products with more confidence — through practical comparisons, transparent research and free decision tools.
What PetBuyLab is
Choosing pet products is harder than it should be. Marketing pages highlight features, hide tradeoffs, and rarely explain what actually matters for a specific dog or cat. PetBuyLab exists to make those tradeoffs visible.
Every guide is organised around a real decision — the pet, the environment, the use case and the practical constraints — and explains the factors that materially affect fit, use and maintenance. We compare products against daily routines, not a universal “best” badge.
We are a new and growing publication. Rather than pad the site with filler, we publish guides only once they clear our sourcing, safety-language and editorial checks.

Brands can never buy a higher position. Commercial opportunity is kept entirely separate from product-selection judgement.
No invented expertise
People, credentials, testing, reviews and outcomes are never fabricated. Hands-on testing is claimed only when it genuinely happened.
Corrections stay visible
When we get something materially wrong, the guide carries a clear, dated note explaining exactly what changed.

Crucially, commission never influences which products we recommend or how they rank. If a better-fitting product earns us nothing, it still wins. We are not veterinarians, and our guides are informational rather than a substitute for professional veterinary advice.
